It is my distinct honour and privilege to welcome you to the official website of the Coalition of Defence Industry (Malaysia). As President I am proud to lead an association that embodies the spirit of national resilience, industrial collaboration, and technological advancement in Malaysia’s defence sector.

The past year has marked a significant journey for CDI (M). From our establishment to our active engagement with key defence stakeholders, we have made impactful strides in promoting unity among local defence companies. Through strategic workshops, focused dialogue with the Ministry of Defence, and initiatives like the Industry Collaboration Programme (ICP), we have positioned CDI (M) as a vital voice in shaping a self-reliant and competitive defence ecosystem in Malaysia.

Our commitment remains firm—to strengthen local industry participation in national defence contracts and cultivate partnerships between international defence providers and capable Malaysian companies. In the short term, we aim to expand our membership and facilitate impactful collaborations. Long-term, we envision Malaysia emerging as a leading regional hub for defence innovation, supported by a robust, self-sustaining industrial ecosystem and technology localization programmes.

The defence sector is evolving rapidly, shaped by global security dynamics, digital transformation, and the need for strategic autonomy. While challenges persist—such as policy gaps, global supply chain disruptions, and talent scarcity—they also present opportunities. CDI (M) strives to bridge these gaps by fostering collaboration, advocating policy reforms, and providing a platform for knowledge-sharing, R&D, and professional development.

I extend my heartfelt appreciation to our members, partners, government agencies, and defence stakeholders who have supported us from inception. Your trust, participation, and belief in our mission have been instrumental in our early achievements. I also thank the CDI (M) EXCO and Secretariat for their unwavering commitment and leadership.

As we continue this transformative journey, I invite all industry players to join us in shaping the future of Malaysia’s defence industry—an industry that is united, innovative, and globally respected. Together, we can secure not just our national interests, but also foster regional stability through industrial strength and collaboration.
