Malaysia’s Coalition of Defence Industry (CDI) and Turkey’s Turkish Defence Industry Manufacturers Association (SASAD) signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the International Defence Industry Fair (IDEF) 2025 in Istanbul.

The signing ceremony, held at the IDEF 2025, was witnessed by The Honourable Datuk Seri Khaleed Nordin, Defence Minister of Malaysia and Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, Secretary of SSB including senior officials from both governments and defence industry leaders, underscoring the growing alignment between Malaysia and Turkey in the defence and security sector.

This agreement is expected to catalyse next-generation collaboration between Malaysian and Turkish companies in areas such as unmanned systems, cyber defence, aerospace, and AI-driven military applications. The MoU signing reflects the shared commitment of both nations to forge a resilient, secure, and self-reliant defence industrial base, anchored by innovation and strategic cooperation.
